Oh, no! NAFF 2015 is not this spring!

It’s been a long time since we’ve spoken, New Art Film Festival faithful! We at east central Illinois‘ favorite independent film showcase hope you have been quite productive in your filmmaking success the past 10 months!

With that said, we share the news that the NAFF will be moving from its traditional springtime position, during the annual Boneyard Arts Festival and right before Roger Ebert’s Film Festival, to an undetermined date later in 2015. Both professional and personal issues factored into the decision, but we won’t bore you with the details other than to say the Art Theater Co-op will remain on board as the home base for our movie madness!

It is not a time to be sad or discouraged. Operating independently from corporate or academic umbrellas means having to face challenges large and small without a ready lifeline of personnel, resources, or funding. Let’s look at this calendar shift, whether temporary or permanent, as an opportunity to explore how the NAFF can enhance the viewing options of the Champaign-Urbana community in the fall season.

You can always contact yours truly with questions or suggestions on the future of this “little film festival that could!”

All the best,

Jason Pankoke
